Ever dreamed of creating your own tote bag? This two-part workshop invites you to design and sew a personalized bag made from our beautiful denim scraps, a creative way to give new life to leftover fabrics!
In a friendly, hands-on setting, you’ll learn the basics of sewing: how to thread a machine, make your first stitches, and assemble and press your very own tote. Fabrics will be pre-cut for you, and you’ll get to choose your favorite colours and combinations to make your piece truly yours.

What you’ll learn:
• How to thread and use a sewing machine
• Basic sewing and assembling techniques
• Pressing and finishing details for a clean result
• How to create a unique, upcycled tote from denim scraps
Materials:
• All fabrics, tools, and supplies are provided
• Denim scraps and colors available to choose from on site
Workshop format:
• Level: Beginner (no experience needed)
• Duration: 6 hours total, split into 2 sessions of 3 hours each (November 19 & 26)
• Group size: Maximum 4 participants (semi-private, personalized guidance)

About the workshop leader:
Myriem Schaffner has been part of the Odeyalo team as a seamstress for nearly a year. Currently completing her university degree in Fashion Design at ESG UQAM, she was awarded the Mmode Gala Prize for Student Excellence. Passionate about fashion and craftsmanship, Myriem brings creativity and precision to everything she touches and plays an active role in the design process at Odeyalo. For this workshop, she has designed a special tote bag pattern just for you to bring to life.
